Enjoying adventures in Portland, Oregon as a designer, wife, and mom of two. I am a creative problem solver and crafting meaningful, informed user experiences is my passion. I am proud to have lived out my dream as a Design Director at Nike WHQ leading Design for Marketing Technology and Supply Chain enterprise capabilities, fulfilled meaningful, impactful work as Principal Design Manager at Microsoft helping to re-envision a future where people and teams are empowered to be their best from anywhere, and now living my passion as Design Manager at Spotify helping to enable millions of creative artists globally to make a living off their art through Spotify’s platform.
Throughout my career, I've thrived in challenging settings big or small always aspiring to push the boundaries of emerging technologies and design thinking. I am a forward thinker that has had the great fortune of designing holistic, refined, novel, data-driven experiences improving the way people live, interact, engage, communicate, and share. I specialize in designing for responsive web, multi-platform applications (mobile, tablet, desktop, television, VR), print, typography, and identity systems. I have led digital strategy, experience architecture, user research, and visual design for some of the world’s largest companies and successful brands, including Amazon, Nike, Microsoft, Digital Domain, Comcast, Smithsonian, Johnson & Johnson, Freddie Mac, Brightcove, Samsung, Gaia, The Filipino Channel, Shaw Communications, and California Academy of Sciences. Every challenge has been an opportunity to learn and grow, but now solving creative problems most relevant to my life energizes me.
Player or coach, I’ve learned the most by being in the trenches with my teams, sharing the common goal of serving our users. The shared mentality of hard work, communication, empathy, attention to detail, resourcefulness, passion for problem solving, and good ol' FUN had been the magic recipe for each collaboration's success. My leadership now has everything to do with those experiences.
For many years, I’ve built, grew, and led agency and product creative teams (Philadelphia, DC, New York, Oakland, Portland, Los Angeles, Seattle). Witnessing their win is the most fulfilling part of my role. I love being a part of their journey. I enjoy sharing my knowledge, tools, and creative process to help my team see the big picture, get past the scary blank canvas, take some risks, and execute (thoroughly, beautifully, appropriately) with the user + business needs top of mind. Giving my team a platform to voice their point of view keeps me open to fresh perspectives and allows me to learn from them as well.
